I have just started this book but already im am really starting to dislike a secondary character who seems to be important to the main charater. In this book there are two girls one named jessie the other ruth and ruth already seems to be the kind of friend that will love you to death but will hate and disrespect your every move.
Ruth has been friends with Jessie since kindergarden and jessie has gotten detention and in trouble to stick up for her when she is made fun of over or concerning her weight, but when jessie is asked for if she needs a ride home from a Boy which people call a "grit" which basically means a person who lives out of town and has farmers or lesser working class parents she gets annoying and keeps saying i can't believe you spoke to him, would you have excepted a ride from him, why would you even consider it. I can't see Jessie hanging out with such a shallow person in whcih jsut becasue a person is a so called different social class then you they can't speak, look, or come anywhere near you. But techinally its Ruths fault that Jessie knows all of them because half the time she is in detention with them for sticking up for Ruth or Herself.
Jessie is a nice perosn who doesnt really care about social classes but doesnt like to be odered around or take disrespect from others easly. Ruth is a shallow girl who tihnks about herself and what she would do in that situation and everythig pertains to her and the world revolves around her. But that isnt true. Yet i can't believe Jessie hasn't said anything to her yet.
I believe that Jessie should say dosmething to ruth or else she is going to have her life almost critizewd and dictated by her so-called best friend.
